I have been doing South Beach since May 31. I lost 9 lbs the 1st 2 weeks but having a struggle on phase 2. I haven't had an official weigh in the last 2 weeks . I go to TOPS (Take off pounds sensible) & we took off as our meeting day fell on the 4th plus the church we meet in had VBS last week. We meet tomorrow. I find it an easy diet to follow till I eat out. I went to a church pot luck last Friday & did great till I went to the dessert table ..we won't talk about that LOL. I go out with some ladies from church tomorrow & hope I have will power to skip the desserts.
It is supposed to be a great diet to get triglisterides (sp) down. I made an appointment to get them checked the 24th. I sure hope they are down as I don't want to take Tricor. I took myself off them when I started SB. They aren't real high but higher than they should be. I think that will keep me from the dessert as I want a good test.
Don't get SB mixed up with Adkins as it is very different. You HAVE TO eat GOOD carbs & GOOD fat even in phase 1. I tested & never had ketones.
I find it painless to follow even in phase 1 (if I eat at home)

I am probably eating to much of the healthy foods but when I post my diet they say I'm not eating enough. We don't count calories. I need to count calories a few days & just see what I am eating calorie wise.
At the end of the day I will post what I have had here. I need all the support I can get.
