Would anyone be willing to share some tropical hibiscus seeds for SASE? Thanks, julie
Hibiscus Seeds Wanted
Some are on the way to you. Look at the thread I started.
I just got some yellow tropical seeds yesterday if you would like some.
Indiana_lily, I already have a pure yellow and a lemon yellow, but I do appreciate the offer. julie
Julie, no seeds to offer, but if you want a few cuttings, let me know.
Oh, Tess, you are spoiling me rotten! I'd love the cuttings. Would gladly reimburse you for postage. You should still have my address. By the way, all the hibiscus you sent me are doing great! One has a bud and I am impatiently waiting for it to open! I'll send pic when it opens. Thanks, julie
Great! I'll get a list together of what's big enough and get it over to you, possibly this afternoon and we can discuss the specifics. I'm doubly glad I got those plants out to you and Kyle before I left on my trip- at least I know they're safe...lol. They would have been among the ones sitting in my courtyard getting drowned otherwise!
Are you ladies telling me you can get cuttings from Hibiscus and they will grow or root?
Lavina
Lavina, I have some rooting now! But my plants were well branched. Just find a small branch about 4-6" long with at least one leaf node. Cut at an angle just below the leaf node, strip off all but one or two leaves at the tip, dip in rooting hormone, place in container filled with moistened soil, and place outside in a shady but warm place. Good luck! julie
Lavina, with this new info, you know that we are in trouble, right!!! LOL!! Julie, you have seeds on the way!
I've never actually shipped cuttings, tho. What's the best way? Should I cut the leaves and dose them with Superthrive first or let Julie do it upon arrival? We live pretty close, so if I send them USPS Priority, they should only take about a day...granted, it's a very very HOT day, but...
Meag848 yelp we are in trouble. On the coleus site I said I might have to move DH next door this winter.LOL.
I gotta get a green house, but we plan on being at the coast soon. Hope DH gets one built there.
I was retiring in January, but now it will be August. I think he's retiring in October.
Lavina
