Many years ago we got a free (FujiFilm) digital camera with a computer purchase. I have used that little camera for about 5 years (and loved it...so simple) and it is now broken. My DH purchased a Sony Handycam about 6 months ago and now that my Fuji is broken, I've learned that I can take still shots with the Sony.
Here is the problem.....before with the Fuji I just plugged in the usb and it immediately opened FinePix and I was able to drag each pic to a folder in 'My Pics'. That was very simple and I loved it.
Well, the Handycam has a mini DVD and when I put it in my computer it takes me to these options of what I can do:
Open video in RealPlayer
Open video in WindowMedia
Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer
When I click to open folder using WE it is the slowest thing I've ever seen. Of course, I have 233 pics on this one dvd, which is probably way too many. It will only display a little under 100 for me....then I have to click on the thumbnail and tell it to copy to MyPics. And when I copy a pic.....it feels like it takes a lifetime. I can gather up a load of laundry and start it in less time than this takes to copy.
I know that has to be something different I can use. Is there anything out there that is simple and quicker? I would certainly appreciate any advice.
I am running Windows XP and this Handycam does not have usb capabilities. I have tried to open in FinePix but I have to stare at an hour glass for hours. The longest I waited was 3 hours......
TIA Brinda :)
