What kind of EEs are these?

Birmingham, AL(Zone 7b)

I found these straglers in an overgrown patch of yard. When I first found & potted them, the tallest was 5". They've really grown. At first I thought that they might be a dwarf variety. Is there a way to tell what they are from this pic? Ignore the odd plant in the pot, I had to make them share, and it did add some color. :-)

How many species are there of Colocasia? and what are they?

Louisville, KY

Colocasia
Affinis
Antiquorum sub sp
Esculenta Has many many forms with different colorations on leaves and stems and size and shapes. It is the most common form.

Gigantea
Jenningsii
marchalii
Keladi

As far as I can tell their are aparently 8 species. This is one group no one has really worked with as far as putting them in order. It maybe to far gone as they have been grown and cultivated in the tropics for thosands of years all are said to be Asian but have been growing in south america for over a hundered years and in hawaii as food crop. So Their are to many sub species and hybrids to really put figure them all out. I have photos of around 40 forms.

Thanks Brian, you're always so helpful. So on my chart, fontanesii is the cultivar, not the species?
