Hello! I don't have anything to trade at the moment, as I am establishing a new garden in a new location, but I would like to have a few cuttings of Aptenia (either pink or yellow or both). This little plant has always been a favorite.
I am also looking for some cuttings of GREEN-AND-WHITE Wandering Jew.
I am in the Address Exchange. My Zip Code is 70450. I will happily send postage.
Thank you.
Jean
WANTED: Aptenia ("Ice Plant")
I live in Covington and I have the pink ice plant. I didn't know there was a yellow. It should do fine in the mail even in our horrible heat..or do you come to Cov?
flicker
Hello Flicker,
Yes, I've seen them in yellow also, but I think the pink/red is more commonly available.
I usually come to Covington on Wednesday afternoons (doctor's appointment). I am in Mount Hermon (just outside of Franklinton).
What a nice area this is, huh?
Jean
It was much nicer before the influx of 85,000 people. We are not equiped for this growth. And we've lost our quiet country town to become another Metairie. Katrina was a disaster for us. I hope your area fared better.
I could meet you someplace to give you the cuttings if you like. Let me know.
Johanna
LSP,
I have some green/white wondering jew i could send you..you would have to root them but they are one of the easiest to root. Let me know if you me to snip some cuttings for you.
Char
Flicker, thank you so much, but I purchased two little Aptenia plants on eBay. One is red and the other is yellow. Once they become established, would you like a start of the yellow?
Also, Flicker, where are all those 85,000 new people LIVING? Was that much housing available in Covington? I used to live in Chalmette, which was totally devastated by Katrina. Fortunately, the new area in which I live (this land has been in the family since the 1930's) is still very rural. I mean, there are COYOTES up here!!! LOL. No kidding.
And Red Princess (Char), I would be most grateful for the green-and-white wandering jew cuttings. Yes, they are so easy to root. I had a pot-full of them at my old house, but all that got washed away by Hurricane Katrina.
My new address is:
39391 Burch Road
Mount Hermon, Louisiana 70450
You can believe, it is on MUCH higher ground! :)
Again, thank you both for your kindness.
Jean
