A quick question for ponders.

Mason, MI(Zone 5b)

A friend wanted some of my water lilies. Can I separate them during blooming without causing damage to the plant? I would like to share, but is this the time to separate them?

Hornick, IA(Zone 4b)

Not sure about the time to or not But I went to a dead river bed . an waded in with a corn rake. and dug up some monster tubers. about 2" diameter. Brought them home, put them in my pond. and they took right off. These were the white with yellow center, and very hardy plants. They were near O'Neill NE., which I think would be the same zone. I am in zone 4 one wintrer it will be A and next it could be B ((*-*))

Pickens, SC(Zone 7a)

I seperate lilies anytime except winter.

I dont usually bother them after about late August because I like to give them at least a month to get established before really cold winter stops growth.

Other than that... any other time works well with me.

Thank you both so much for the information. I will make sure I do it soon then.

Pinky yes you can split them. I have done it several times over the years and my friends love them at there homes.
