Front

Dothan, AL(Zone 8a)

Hi all, I want to redo my front foundation plants as they are about 12 years old, and looking too bad.
The front is on one side azaleas. There are 5 bushes. On the other side is the steps to the porch, then the bed is a cemented planter, that goes across to the other end of the porch. It has bushes that has berries. I have no idea what it is called. They are very mature, and too large.
I live in zone 8 this porch gets sun all day and is very hot.
I kind of had in mind a large bed on the side with the azaleas, some kind of foundation plants that are not so large, and maybe annuals and perrenials, and an ornamental tree that doesn't get so large. But have no idea of kind etc.
I'm a complete blank on the other side of the porch.
Any suggestions, most appreciated.
TIA,
Linda
