Bob, It looks a bit like B48 from Siam seeds. Lyndi calls it Pink Crape because it looks like crape paper. Very Pretty.

Tami...it's very pretty and you're correct ..it does look a bit like B48....and it does look like crepe paper....again my thanks for your great pics..

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

If i didn't know any better that looks like the Miami Rose there is 20 foot tree on the next block alot of times her flowers look exactly like this..

I dont have a picture of the tree it's in there backyard along with 2 big ugly dogs :)
TF posted his in another section and his MR is close to what i am talking about..

That's a gorgeous flower, Bob, but your petals are fatter, and B44 has that white circle around the yellow center and a red star in the center. They are definitely not the same flower, but yours is very pretty.

Davie, FL(Zone 10b)

Ok i almost kill myself today climbing a ladder on wet grass :=/
Bob lol because of your pics i had to see if one of my trees is the same flower..
All this rain i just had to go see what colors my flowers were showing after all this weather..
I think we have the same plant and mine smells sweet and surely looks like yours..
I am going to edit them now because they are hugh pics and since i had the ladder out
i took some pictures of my other pink..
I can't see the flowers anymore from the ground because both of my trees are over 14'
so the ladder was a must..
I won't hijack your thread either so i will post them in my post..
:)

Keep up the good work bob!

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

lopak...it certainly does look like the miami rose....perhaps because the "throat" so yellow..it looks a bit diff...and the rims..appear darker.....it's a cutting...but i went out in the rain yesterday and got a miami rose blossom and they sure are similar...the scent is much different though..and lopak..don't worry about hijacking...i love your pics and your expertise

Davie, FL(Zone 10b)

Hey bob thanks..
Did you see my new pics and mine also has a sweet smell not the coconut peeps claim that the miami rose gives off..
LOL it's a funny thing, the only TRUE coconut/pina colada smell i get from any of my plants is my wonderful 12year old orchid "MaxillariaTenuifolia" and you can smell her from 20 feet away on a hot humid morning..

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

Lopaka, I'm glad to here you say that about the coconut smell. The Miami Rose that I have has a sweet smell also. Doesn't even come close to being coconut or suntan lotion.

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

lopak...i went looking for your pics this morning and didn't find them..what did oi do wrong...were they in that long thread to which i replied?

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

While i'm pretty certain it's a MIami Rose..this one 's scent is entirely different from the others...and this one..has darker bands of red/maroon around the blossom....i'll keep watching..
thanks for your impact scoolie...

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

well the mystery is solved...i don't have hot pink...nor is it Miami Rose...but it is

Call me crazy bob but i think you got a miami rose..
The plumie and it's spell "Courtade Pink" is more of a white to very soft pink..
This cutting you got came from a nice tree from florida which is where the miami rose
is located..
I am not sure but i think the Courtade Pink is from Texas..
Kukiat had a nice picture of it he email me today btw if anyone is trying to reach him i guess he was out of town..
I can't find my links at the moment but ask Clare maybe she has one in the database..
I could be wrong bob but my tree looks alot like yours and i think that owner has her labeled wrong which wouldn't be a bad thing because most of those peeps who bought off her
will have a miami rose :)

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

well lopaka...i found the tag in the plant...lol...and i contacted the sender where i bought it from last november...perhaps the new blossoms are darker...they look very similar to his pic now...i'll ck it again today and take another pic.

Davie, FL(Zone 10b)

Hello Bob,
I am sure you have the orginal tag what i was saying maybe the seller has it wrong..
The CP i have seen don't look like that because they fade to soft pink..
I could be wrong so maybe others here can add their input..
I found clare's link to the CP:

Here is Doc's CP which is the version i have seen from other peeps..

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

wow lopaka..kukiaks sure looks diffrent...the dark pink bands around mine are what looks like the seller cp i got along with the orange center...my miami rose look similar but don't have that dark band...but who knows....i am a big fan of M.Rose so it's ok with me....did you answer me about highway 91?

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

ok..i have discovered there is a CORTADE PINK..which i have and a COURTADE PINK..that looks more white which is what i DON'T have...here's the pic of the CORTADE PINK...taken at a PSA function some years ago

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

i read the history of the courtade plumie...how liz thornton bought it for 1.50...took 8 years for hers to bloom...was pink at first and than become more light colored...quien sabe?....i NOW am more interested in the history of these babies.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Bob, I agree with Robert. The "Cortade Pink" is just someone's mispelling of "Courtade Pink" and not a different plumeria. Yours is definitely not "Courtade Pink" and is much too dark and shouldn't be labeled as such if you are going to trade or sell it in my opinion. It is a very pretty unknown hybrid. I know everyone is eager to put a name to their unknown, but there are only 600+ named registered plumerias, and there are tens of thousands of unnamed hybrids. The chances are really good that you have an unnamed hybrid. I wouldn't even dare to call it "Miami Rose" since you don't know for sure. I would never buy from a seller that sticks a cultivar name on to an unknown.

Davie, FL(Zone 10b)

Highway 91? Huh!
Bob could you repeat the question sorry it is late when i am on here and i had a few Singha's aka Thai Beer..
(o.~)

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

lopaka...lol...i was going to make a trip to Davie...i posted asking you whether 91 was a good highway as the directions i had said take 70 towards okeechobe and than 91 south for 100 miles and to griffin blvd in Davie....

Davie, FL(Zone 10b)

Ahh i don't really know those roads but i do know the main road you see running south of the lake that connects to I-75 is just fine..
Davie is very big so dunno where you want to go from griffin..
Western Davie has Million dollar homes and many actors and actress live there including local favorites "The Rock" and "Dan Marino".
Orange Drive runs right next to it and when you come off the turnpike and head west you will run into Top Tropicals and a little further Flamingo Gardens..
Many nurseries are on Orange Drive and Griffin Road..
Black Olive is a hugh Nursery just head east on griffin and you run into it..
Drive around on Stirling road thru Copper City and you will see many plumie trees 20feet plus..
On University Dr between pines blvd and stirling road you will see many plumie trees growing in the wild along the river bank...

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

lopaka...thanks very helpful info....
