No clue, but I am going to guess H. diversifolia only because mine sends off chubby shoots like that. Only problem is mine end up producing another vine even though it starts out looking like a peduncle.

You know kristina_n_, I was thinking the same. H. kerrii. Whatever it is I assume the vines, stalks, etc. appear to be from a "hefty" hoya.

Nope, it didn't blast and it hasn't really changed much, except for about 4 feet of new growth that seem to have taken the energy from the peduncle... The tiny little bumps that could be buds are still there and I'll let you know if anything changes.
