Greetings from NC!
I have enjoyed seeing everyone's photos. Hibs are real botanical treasures to have in the garden. My hibiscus garden is blooming full blast now. I have a new one bloom for the first time yesterday call Dazzle Pink. It has large nearly 8" blooms and grow to about 5 1/2 ft tall. Here is a photo I took today.

The Hibs are blooming
wow looks like a huge bloom. Very pretty
Oh I'm mad now. I'm in Raleigh and mine aren't blooming yet. That is a beautiful flower.
Japanese Beetles have almost eat up Dinner Plate Red and I have filled it full of 7 dust quite a few times.
Do you share seeds?
Lavina
Hi Lavina,
This one is I bred 2 years ago hasn't have many bug problems. A few leaves have holes from sawfly larva, but the J Beetles haven't feasted on the flowers or leaves. Some varieties have better pest resistance and this one appears less appetizing that the older cultivars.
I do collect seeds, but there is quite a variance in the offspring: flower size, colour, number of buds that open, growing height, etc. I do have some cuttings which will bloom true to colour and sell or trade the extras. This morning it had several large flowers open. It was quite the site!
WOW 8 inches of bloom. It looks just so pretty. You must be thrilled with your very own creation!
