Fascination

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Last year it was so hard to get a good picture of Fascination.
The earwigs had decided to make their home in the calyxes of many of my doubles and chewed the flowers up before they even opened.
Even though the earwigs had started to chew their way into the calyx this yearI caught it in time before they got inside.
This is a large flower and worth the wait. It also smells great. It just opened this morning so it's not fully colored yet.
Thanks Monika for another beauty.

Beautiful!
This just confirms that I need to buy the house next door and turn it into a greenhouse and take over the yard, of course.

Thank you everyone. I'm really surprised this one opened as nicely as it did with all the rain we have been getting.
This morning it was raining again and I had to go out to get the picture with an umbrella. LOL

Gorgeous. The rain on the flower makes the pictures even better than without. Both pictures are great.

Terry, I'm drooling all over my keyboard. She is so beautiful.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Be careful Sylvia. You don't want to short out the keyboard. LOL!

I can't wait for my Fascination to bloom. It is so full and should produce a lot of color once it starts budding.

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Kathy, how are you doing? It's good to see you here. I haven't chatted with you for quite a while. Isn't this brug just about the prettiest thing you have ever seen??

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Another beauty.....WOW.....Congrats to the both of you. I sure need one in my yard. Terry, how are the temps at your place now. I was just wondering how this one does in the heat and if possibly the doubles would do fine in our Texas heat and humidity with shade after noon. It is such a scorcher in July and August here.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Thanks everyone for your kind words.
I feel so fortunate to have been able to grow this through Monika's generousity.
Frannie the temps here have not been that warm since the flower came out. Tonight it is pouring rain.
The flower seems to have a thick strong wall so I think it would do fine in the heat.
The stupid Bluejays knocked off two buds which would have opened by this weekend. It would have been a good heat test if they had as it is supposed to get into the 90's here.
The flower darkened up a little more today.

Luise and Barcarole do very well in the heat. Both were blooming, when we hit the 37°C.
