My husband made this plant stand/hanger for me for my birthday. It can hold two pots and has lots of space to hang others. In my dreams I can see it suspended from a tree completely covered with hoyas.
Birthday gift
Wow awesome gift, and a very talented husband you have there Shirley. That was so very thoughtful of him to make you something so beautiful.

REALLY attractive!!! What a lucky girl you are...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
That is REALLY beautiful! He has some real talent ;)
Thanks everyone. He made it from rebar...cut the jigs for bending the pieces, calculated rod lengths, cut and bent the pieces, and welded it together. The sides are three big 'S's and the base is three smaller 'S's. He then went back and added one smaller ring holder at the top and a larger one at the base. Final job was painting it glossy black since I love wrought iron.
He will be posting directions for making it later on his website. I'll post a link to them when they are ready.
Susan, I think he's a 'keeper', too. I snagged him 32 years ago (soon to be 33 years) and haven't let go yet. :)
I just love rebar! That is really nice. Me too, I can see it hanging from a tree. Then you would be able to hang hoya from the "feet" and maybe even the circular base. Please do post a link to his website. What else does he have out there?
Susan
Wow great plant stand. And Happy Birthday, hope you have a great day.
Happy Birthday and congratulations on netting such a lovely artist for a husband!

Susan,
Here's a link to DH's website: http://edge-op.org
In the Images Archives under Woodwork you can see a picture of a pine corner cupboard he made for me a few years ago. I'm really proud of it.

Happy Birthday Shirley!!! Very pretty plant stand!!! Hope you had a great birthday!..Dianne
Dinner was 30 minutes late tonight as I got hung up in the website. No wonder you've held onto him for so long. Your DH appears to be very multi talented (inspite of being an old grouch??? Is that him?)
Susan
Susan,
That's him, whiskers and all, the grouch.
Are you familiar with this site: http://lxer.com?
Wow - a thoughtful husband... How must THAT feel?? I love mine to death, but it would never occur to him to do something so special for my birthday. **Sigh** You're a lucky girl, Cicada!
