This plant, up until this week, was all white. Four or five flowering units have turned purple. Is this a pH thing? Is this a butterfly bush thing? Inquiring minds wanna know!

looks to me like you have two plants together. maybe the grower inadvertently put two seedlings together, thinking they were the same variety. I like it. Mine looks like that also, (I deliberately planted them together) , but I haven't been able to get a good pic. I think yours is super

Thanks for the compliment ... I guess my concern comes from the fact that for the last two to three years, they have been all white ... Maybe the purple one is (as you say) seeded in between the white ones. I'll have to get in there this fall/winter and check the base of the plants. Can't get in there now without a machete!!!
