Is this a butterfly larve?
I've 3 or 4 on my fennel.
I've quite a few yellow and black butterflies around the yard.

I do know that Black Swallowtails like fennel so it could be one of their larvae.
I googled fennel and catapillar. I got information on Swallowtail butterlies. It had a picture of the catapillar... http://home.att.net/~larvalbugbio/swallowtails.html
It looks like yours but with black stripes instead of green??? its it the same just different???
