WOW Mrs C those are pretty!! I need to add a couple to my next order....Lauri

Me too. Love the photos and Just got into strep. I think the key is to let them dry to touch on top before watering. It's worked for me. I've had mind for about 3 months now. Just got a new one a couple of days ago. They are all noids but they are beautiful. I even tried my hand at dividing crown. Got 4 plants from one and shared with my neighbor. All 4 are blooming. Rob has very good instructions for dividing strep. The other one I potted up and it began blooming again like mad.

I have mine in a west by northwest window that has a filtered glass in it. The plants set about fifteen inches from the window and get 2 or 3 hours of afternoon sun. The batteries in my cameria need charging or I would send you a picture.

Good luck with your growing

Beautiful ! Yes they like to be dry. If they are dry and go limp water they come right back, if you over water and they go limp bye bye sorry they die. It can happen real easy. They like it cooler and dry. I keep mine in natural light or bottom shelf on end of tubes.
In our stickies some great links about Stretocarpus growing. They progated so easy and fast before you know it you have another baby plant blooming. They bloom from the leaf axil not from the crown. Each leaf will only bloom so many times, so new leaf growth is important to have a flowering plant. You can trim the leaves anyway you like ! You can have a pot of nubs in full bloom. They are great in hanging baskets too !

My camera is working again.

These are my noid strep. This is the new one I got two days ago. The blooms are on very long stocks.

This is the one I divided into 4 plants. They are all this big. You can imagine how big the original plant was. The reason I divided the plant: it stopped blooming.

I got my first strep in the mail yesterday, its Bristol's Party Girl. Can't wait for blooms!

This is the one I potted up. She had stopped blooming but I could see tiny new blooms coming so I decided to pot up instead of divide. This one looks like Calico but I don't know the real name.

Mrs C & Nanna your streps are gorgeous!!! You guys should be doing the happy dance and patting yourselves on the backs for jobs well done!

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Beautiful Streps !
Nanna do you isolate the new one you got a couple days ago ?
How long do you isolate new plants for ?

Silver Spring, MD

Actually I did not. I bathed her pretty well and checked her out. I didn't let her near the AV's though. The av's are in a different room.

I should isolate more. I guess you run into trouble when you neglect the basics.

I'll do better, promise!

Hey Mrsbonnie. That certainly is a beautiful strep. 100 is a handfull. How do you care for them?

All the Streps are beautiful! Thanks for sharing the pictures of them! I've been letting mine get dry before I water and they seem to be doing well. Hoping for blooms soon so I can share pictures, too! :o)

MsBonnie you must be a busy lady! 100 that's a lot!

Glad you liked the pics..

I love them & have had one other but killed it quickly with my usual death by drowning act..lol
I hope to do better by these guys.
I'm not too sure where they will get placed here . Light stand or windows?? Heat here is a big issue and so I'm not sure where they will find it comfy.

mrsbonnie ~yours are very nice! Now please tell me how to grow them as beautifully as yours..:)

nanna~ I love yours, it has a very nice set of blooms there!
As far as Noids go well you know me...I just love PLANTS... I have a real respect for the latin & registered names, etc BUT I can name 'em and that's good enough for me. I'm no plant snob..lol

I do have an itch to proagate/hybridize these guys so we will see how that goes. I like the fact that they set seed easily & that they grow from a leaf cutting to.

Anybody what to buy them life jackets???

MsC
