Mammillaria 'Brunispina'
Mammillaria carmenae
CSSA show plant with yellowish spines, southern California
Mammillaria 'Brunispina' (Mammillaria carmenae)
Palmbob,
The yellow spined version is Mammillaria schiedeana ssp. giselae
http://www.cactus-art.biz/schede/MAMMILLARIA/Mammillaria_schiedeana/Mammillaria_shiedeana_giselae/Mammillaria_schiedeana_ssp_giselae.htm
Do you want your photo moved to the 'giselae' subspecies page?
please...
Jordi,
So are you saying that 'subsp giselae' does not have yellow spines? Or do they both have yellow spines? If so, what other differences are there between the two subspecies?
Palmbob,
There's been a mix-up somewhere along the way with links or posts or both.
Because now your picture above is in M. carmenae 'Brunispina'.
I was working on 4 different plants at once and something got criss-crossed.
Please stand by.
(Added edit)
I know what happened now.
I put in the wrong name in my first reply.
It's ok now.
