Palmbob,
The yellow spined version is Mammillaria schiedeana ssp. giselae

Do you want your photo moved to the 'giselae' subspecies page?

please...

I am sorry Xeno, but this is the real Mamm schiedeana. Compare with the habitat photo!

Jordi,
So are you saying that 'subsp giselae' does not have yellow spines? Or do they both have yellow spines? If so, what other differences are there between the two subspecies?

El Cajon, CA

Do you see any yellow spines on that subsp giselae in this photo? To my eye they are white to tan.
But of course my plants might be white spined cultivars like the allegedly white flowering cultivar from Cactus-art :-))

Palmbob,
There's been a mix-up somewhere along the way with links or posts or both.
Because now your picture above is in M. carmenae 'Brunispina'.
I was working on 4 different plants at once and something got criss-crossed.
Please stand by.

(Added edit)
I know what happened now.
I put in the wrong name in my first reply.
It's ok now.
