Hoya Holiday

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

Well, with the new house coming and all I thought it would be a good time to re-pot all the hoyas on this floor rather than my new floor *lol*.
I ran into a great deal at a store here in Maine called Marden's and they had those bamboo trellis things for 3/$.99 so I picked up a couple of packages of 3.
I bought new pots with the little watering lip in the bottom and took all my vining hoyas out of the beaded hangers they were growing in and put them in the new floor pots with bamboo trellis's.
I think they look much happier this way.

They look nice and tidy on the trellises Kim. What size are those two lighter pots? 6" or 8" ?

Thank you so much Night Bloomer, I really like the trellis's. I liked the price better *lol*. They are in size 10" pots.

They look lovely (sigh) Now for the day that my hoyas are in a 10 inch pot :)

Well, I'm sure mine are "over-potted" if it makes you feel any better but it's OK if it takes them a while to catch up with their pots *lol*. I have 2 varieties in 2 pots and 3 varieties in 1 pot. I find that some are faster growers than others but if I can tame the vines early I think I will be able to keep them longer *lol*

Just be careful when you "overpot" any that you don't overwater them. The soil will stay wet too long with not enough roots in the pot to drink it up, and they will start to fail on you. If this starts to happen, you must pot them back down fast or you will lose them.
Sadly....I know this from much experience.

OK Marcy I will do my best to keep them happy. Luckily they have those little lips on the bottom of them so that you can water from the bottom and they can "wick" up what they want. I'm hoping these pots are the answer I have been looking for *lol*

Thank you so much!

Kim
