We grow this in a pot mixed with a green one and they have never bloomed. Still pretty though.

They are perennial here. A freeze will knock them back (hopefully) but they come right back.

Well I can't say I do anything more that water them often. They are in a partial shaded area, but I have other in sunny areas that bloom also. I try to load up anyone who is just starting out or doesn't have it. I have it in a basket also, just remembered, but it doesn' t look as full or as purple as in the bed.

Purpler in the sun. Greener in the shade. I "took some cuttings" - actually, I cut it way back in the spring, and put it in a pile that was going to be made into a compost pile. That is how I now have them growing in the shade. They're easy to pull up and toss. The color is worth it.

I may have said that wrong, mine in the shade have a deep purple and the ones in the full sun are a lighter color (not green) and don't grow as dense.
Yes they take off and root very easy.
