Well the buds growing close to the ground started to open today, but what color are they, they are whitish then pale yellow and end with a pink tinge, I lost the tag so not sure which Brug it is, it was supposed to be Isobella?
Crazy weather, Crazy Brugs
Hi Doris!!! How are you doing?
I would think that could be Isabella. To me Isabella looks like a big Frosty type.
Doris it could be Isabella or one of the two different insignis Pinks floating around out there. Both Isabella and one of the i. pinks have the smooth non-wavy edged leaves. The edge of the mouth of the flower is constructed differently from Frosty Pink also.
There's beginning to be many other look-a-likes besides those that resemble Frosty Pink. The opinions that Frosty pink look-a-likes are no big deal are quickly becoming the opinions of many darker pinks too. It's hard to imagine at this point in time but someday double pinks will also fall into that look-a-like category.
Frosty Pink look-a-like hybids might not be fancy but they have survived the test of time. Unlike many others.

Hi kell, I am fine been busy a lot this summer with company.
I am pretty sure this is Isobella, the flower is not as large as last year. I am sure that anyone in this Indiana weather is having a problem with blooms this year, I am giving more MG than usual, some days they are drowning then for a couple of weeks it is DRY and very cool, this time last year I had lots of blooms.
Oh I am so sorry! I know you work hard too on your plants. But we still have a long way to go so the weather better straighten out for you! Did you have lots of blooms in early fall last year? I remember this forum was full of blooms then from all over.
I sure did kell, Golden Lady was loaded, so far this year only one bloom, also Rosa, and Big Y so far not even buds, they say next week it will be cool with rain every day.
Yeah, the weather has been a bit crazy here in Indiana! All last week we hovered around 90 during the day and in the upper 60's lower 70's at night. Now, this week, highs in the low 80's and in the 50's at night. Next week, back to the upper 80's with horrible humidity. Rain has been a bit fickle too!
It better straighten out for all of us!! Or we shall be so mad. LOL
Your right, I was, and at that time Isobella had about twenty blooms.
It also looks like 'Isabella' to me, but as V. mention, with many look-a-liles around it is hard to tell that for sure. How ever, it appears to belong to B. insignis. B. suaveolens hybrids usually don' t have long tendrils and neither fine and thinn like these. You will probably find the leaves a bit longer, than egg-shaped and the margins entire ... and also the calyxes short and inflated :)
