Sporting question...I think

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

My little plant from Allison, Von's Friend Sly (or Syl??) was one of the two plants having problems adjusting to my house. The other is doing great, growing fine now and was just repotted. But this little guy continues to struggle. Now, all of a sudden, the new growth is varigated! Is this plant sprouting a sucker that sported? I think I lost the original crown growth on it, then this happened.

Any ideas?

Von's Friend Syl (8668) 11/08/1997 (Y. Lambert) Single-semidouble pale pink pansy/fuchsia frilled edge. Variegated medium green and white, plain, quilted. Standard

Sometimes variegated AVs will grow out green or will revert to green (especially in warmer weather), but the potential for variegation remains. Your plant is putting out new variegated leaves -- beautiful ones, too! -- and is just growing as it should!

Somehow it's extra rewarding when a plant that was struggling initially starts recovering and putting out new growth. Congratulations!

WOW your lucky. I grew several and while they were young they were very variegated and most likly from the enviroment/heat here they lost their variegation. Glad it's come back for you !
