A few garden shots....

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

H. shepherdii is full of blooms - ON ONE SIDE OF THE POT. I guess that side got more light where it was hanging before so the other half will bloom later.....

And H. samoensis is at it again...the twisted vines are about 3/4" thick and the peduncles sticking out of the twist like spokes...when she finishes blooming I will cut her back...there is no way in this world I could untwist all of those vines...

H. meliflua ssp. fraterna growing up a tree...with H. deykei in the upper left hand corner...on same tree.

H. compacta in bloom... I stuck a piece of H. shepherdii in the moss nearby so she is growing up there too...and the rhipsalis hanging down

And finally....H. pottsii - for some reason these easy bloomers have been very stingy with me....I am trying to get the IML # for this one from David...not too sure...

Wow...just beautiful Carol. That vining one has made it's own rope. Ha. Wonder if Tarzan ever went swinging through the jungle on hoya vines?

Nice ones, Carol! I kind of like the leaves of meliflua ssp. fraterna... and on that pottsii too!

I really need to 'tighten up' the resolution in my camera. It is set low so that I don't have to keep running back to the house to download....but, heck...running is good for me and my photos really suck compared to 'the big girls''.... :>)))

Carol
They are all gorgeous! If I didn't see the edge of a pot I would imagine these as growing in the wild. They really are right at home growing among the trees.
The H.Pottsii is so pretty with it's bloom but it would be wonderful all alone too with leaves like that.

Yes, me too....love the purple edges on the H. pottsii leaves.

My H. shepherdii only seems to bloom on one side too. Like I have time to rotate her to make sure the sunlight is evened out.....right....

San Francisco, CA

the pottsii is gorgeous. Is that maybe the one that can flower blue/green according to D. Liddle?

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

dunno. I asked David. Hopefully he has time to answer me.

What is the scent of H. pottsii like, O Great Queen Pimpette?

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Ah, the scent? Sort of like H. verticillata... I call it a Hoya Scent...sweet, could become cloying.

The Assencion Number of that H. pottsii is IML 0022. Love the leaves.
