Does anyone have experience with Asian jasmine? I have seen it used as a groundcover and it looks great. Home Depot had some for only $4 per plant, but my instinct told to check into it first. The last thing I need is another invasive vine.
Asian jasmine
Trachelospermum asiaticum is an aggressive spreading plant with an extremely fast growth rate. I don't know if it is classified as invasive anywhere but if it isn't currently on any hall of shame list, it probably will end up there sooner or later. I've seen this form dense mats down in Florida. I'm thinking this might be one you might not want on your property.
Yep, I dont think I want to be out there edging it every three days.
Well, I did it. Edged an area (2-3' wide and 18' long) with Asian Jasmine. It took the three years for it to leap, and leap it did. It is growing in dense Georgia red clay and gets almost no water. This was an area where the ground was hard as concrete and would actually crack open with drought. Still - it makes a pretty green area and is controllable with the weed-eater. I trim it back about every 3-4 weeks in the growing season.
