Can someone tell me what this is?

Dallas, TX(Zone 8a)

I bought it at HD earlier this spring, and I'm sure at some point I knew what it was called, but now I can't remember. Was back at HD again today and found it, but of course it wasn't marked, so now it's driving me crazy.

It's the one in the center -- the backsides of the leaves are purple and it has several little purple flowers coming off of a single stem.

Thanks!

And the green ones are a large Genovese leafed style of basil.

remember to bring it in or protect it this winter. Mine didn't make it through the winter here and your weather isn't that much different. I was told they will last for years if they don't get too cold.

That's why I wanted to find out what it was: to see if I could overwinter it somehow. I'll definitely be bringing it in. I need to repot it. It's so topheavy it's already blown over once in the wind.

I also was curious if I could make cuttings from it, but I could have found that out the hard way even if I couldn't identify it.

Cuttings are easily rooted in water or just stick them in potting soil and water everyday for a while. Keep them i the shade. The cuttings root very quickly and grow very quickly once rooted.
