Morning everyone. I have three single plants from a stolen Allison sent me. My question is do I continue to let them grow seperately or do I conbine them into one pot for fullness?
Any suggestions?
Alsobia Question
Best thing is to take a single Stolone ( Like a single crown trialer) Plant it in the middle of the pot. Except these need NO pinching ~ There is a whole thread I worte in sticky how to train your cygnet.
They will keep branching out and growing new crowns/plants in the same pot. The only thing you want to remove is the Stolons . Remoeving the stolons until the plant is mature size will give you a nice shape bushy plant. Alsobias only open two flowers at a time per plant....so you want to grow many in a pot for more flowers. BUT you want them to grow on their own which they will. Give them as much light as possible 14-16 hours a day your plant will bloom all the time. This plant also like to be more moist and like to eat. When the pot is full move it to a larger pot it does not like root bound . When moving it to larger pot it will shoot out more stolons and more crowns in the plant.
I have grown many into 6, and 12 inch pots from the tiniest little stolon ~ It does not take long.
With all the Av babies I have needing potted up I did trans-plant one of my large Alsobia cygnet plants and kept 35 babies/stolons. I don't like to do this, I like to take them off as they grow. I threw some away too.
I also took a 6 inch pan pot and put a bunch of the real little ones. Their doing good too but a nice plant will grow if you use just one ~
This is the first one ~ I bought it one Ebay a stragly little thing. I nursed it from like a 1/4 inch stolon right under the lights just like I mentioned above and in my sticky thread..It was perfect. And I grew it to a 12 inch pot. ... All the plants I have been giving away came from this plant I bought a few years ago. I have shared a good hundred !
I need to find room under light to put a few more for myself ! Their all in natural light now.
