Ladies and gentlemen, I'm having a heck of a time trying to capture photos being sent to me for use in Fraterna and a few other projects. The photos being sent to me are appearing (sometimes) on my e-mail but there is no attachment icon. and for the life of me, I can't figure out anyway to capture them to download on my computer. I think Markroy is about to pull his hair out...or mine in an attempt to get some pictures to me. Can anybody out there explain to me how it can be done. The minute I push the reply button or move to a folder the pictures are removed from the original e-mail...they're gone, never to be seen again (cyberspace poltergeists)???? He says everybody else can capture his pictures to their computers..Is it just me? I need input from anybody..everybody who might be able to tell me how to do this.

Do you happen to use Outlook as your email? If so....I may be able to help...
I'll stay' on-line til I hear back from you...
Betsy
Nope, no help from me. BUT, I did send you a photo too and reading your post makes me wonder if you got it?
Christina
Good Morning Betsy;
I actually have 3 e-mail accounts and I do have outlook, however Mark and others who are trying to send me photos are using my aol address. It's a free edition of aol and I don't have all the options that a paid subscriber has. If you can help me with outlook I can inform them to send the photos to my outlook address..if I can remember what it is. I'll be waiting to hear back from you.

When you get the photo open so you are looking at it, then put the cursor on it & click the RIGHT side on your mouse. A little menu will appear that has the option to "save picture" or "copy picture". Click on that & one of your folders will pop up. Choose where you want the picture & click on save.
If this is still Greek to you...I will try to help further when I get back here later. Hang in there, Im sure it can be done.

Have them try sending pictures to your Outlook account. I believe, by default, when you open an email in Outlook, the picture will be displayed at the end of the email.
In Outlook, when you open an email with a picture attached, there is a line [up by the "from" "to" & "date" info] called "ATTACH". The name of each picture file should be displayed there. To save it to your hard drive, right mouse click on the file name and chose "Save As".
Lemme know if this helps or if you need further assistance. (This is what I did in my "prior life" - I was a computer 'geek', help desk person, department support, and general all-around "Show Me" person". =0)

I am going to enter this. If you have an antivirus, antispware, or a firewall on your computer and ALL of these you, should, definitely have! These programs can and will not allow you to open any attachments. It depends on how you have them configured. I suggest that you take your question to the computer forum. There are more experts there.

Larry - ooh, yeah! Another good suggestion - - the "computer forum" (I didn't know DG had one. Ya learn sumptin every day around here!)
thanks.
I'm going to check out of this forum for a few minutes and go to my outlook account to see if I can remember my address..don't remember if I ever wrote it down anywhere. I'm willing to try anything. Oh and Christina, no I didn't get a photo from you in your e-mail..nothing came through but text..

If you can get INTO your Outlook, just don't remember your account name.....you can find it. Open Outlook...click Tools....Accounts....click on the "mail" tab....then double click the entry for your mail account.
It'll display the specifics.
Anyways - - hope you get this worked out! Good luck to ya!
Betsy
Hey Betsy..no I couldn't remember my e-mail addy and didn't think to go to my e-mail account in tools but tried Mairzee_dotes formula and it worked like a charm. Thanks so much to all of you, Now I can get back to work. Will talk to you all later.
Ann
GOOD NEWS, ANN! And way to go Marcy! =0)
