Hi palmbob,
This used to be, or is at this present time questionable whether O. longispina belongs as a synonym to Tunilla corrugata. So for the time being, there is a separate entry page for your plant you have pictured here. I can see the label says Opuntia longispina var. brevispina, and here is the entry page for that variety here:

Would you like to have your image moved to the O. longispina v. brevispina page?

When I looked it up on the web, I noticed most considered Tunilla to be the correct name, not Opuntia, which is why I created that page... maybe that page should be moved to Tunilla?

Yes, I've seen some places on the net where "Opuntia longispina" is touted as being Tunilla corrugata
If you look in the "Cactus Family" book, pg. 663, it has a "question mark" beside the synonym which indicates that the classification of the synonym was not definate and probably still being decided upon in the year 2000. According to Desert-tropicals it is a separate species still. And I have also seen pictures of both species and they are very different looking. Besides that, there would be no page for the "var. brevispina" plant which is vastly different than the photos in the book of 'Tunilla corrugata'.
I can see why there is much debate over the lumping of this particular plant. I for one question it myself after seeing photos of both species and the variety.

OK, well if you think the photo needs moving, be my guest.
