No blooms but I scored a nice EPIE!

It is with great sadness that I realized most of my epies are probably too young to bloom this year....and I gaze enviously at everyone's pictures of their epies in bloom.

BUT I DO HAVE GOOD NEWS!

I scored two nice big baskets full of CURLEY LEAF EPIE this weekend [one for me, one for my sis].
I have seen posts of this plant and thought it was THE cooolest thing. Can't believe I found this at the garden center at Lowes......WHOOO HOOO!

Had to come over here from hoyas after I saw your polyneura! And wow, what a score! I found one this spring while traveling in Florida. Mine is tiny compared to this one! Does it have a Latin name? I know EA doens't always name their plants

hee hee! You followed me here? Oh Begonia, you are truly a plantaholic too aren't you? =0)
No "Latin Name" on this guy - just an EA tag that says "Epiphyllum Cacuts - aka Jungle Cactus".
Gosh, there was ONE BIG BASKET FULL - - wish I'd have know you wanted one, I'd have grabbed it up for you! =0)

Thanks Betsy, you're too cute! Thanks but I need more plants like I need a hole in my head. I have one, it came in a 4" pot. But you know they are kind of slow growing. BUT you could have resold it on eBay and made a tidy profit! LOL.

I found some great epi's at PHOE (Palm Hammock Orchid Estate, Miami's begonia capital!) They had amazing Hoya, epi's and the BEGONIAS! Oh my!

I bought this incredible twisted looking rhipsalis there. Can't recall the name off hand. I think it's this one (of course it jumped in my suitcase and came home withme!!) http://www.tropiflora.com/creport/cr14-3/3686.jpg

Yours might be this one (at least that's what I think mine is) http://www.tropiflora.com/creport/cr13-3/4715.jpg

And this one I have that I absolutely LOVE http://www.desert-tropicals.com/Plants/Cactaceae/Lepismium_houlletianum.html

straying a bit off topic but they are 'related' right?

WOW! Those are AWESOME! Especially that twisty one - Iv'e never seen ANYthing like that. Reminds me of those twisty things you can get at Taco Bell!!! Does it bloom???? I've never seen anything like that.

...and hey, it's my tread so we can take it anywhere we wanna go! ha ha ha Yes it's aaaaaaall relavent!

Thanks for showing me your pictures.....!

The twisty one just bloomed. Tiny white blooms, pretty much like most rhipsalis blooms, then they faded to yellow and dried on the stems.
The new growth is straight as it can be, so it must twist with age? I dunno, it's all kind of new to me.

I have this main plant addiction, (begonias of course) but can't seem to stop dabbling in other plant genus' - rhipsalis being one off them. So when I saw these at PHOE, I had to have them.

Here's another orchid cactus I have. A gift from another Daver.

Wow Betsy what a score :)

and Laurie GREAT photo..wow..I am jealous!

It is Epiphyllum guatemalense var. monstrose. I think that the flower is white and large size.
