more on H202
I sleep with a CPAP machine with a hydrator attached. I fill the
reservoir with 2 cups of distilled water and 1 1/2 teaspoon of
35% food-grade H2O2. I assume I get the benefit of extra
oxygen as the water vapors are forced into my lungs all night.

I read somewhere that a hum-mit-i-fer [ sp ] with H202 in it helps . I took 1 to Mexico - brother-in-law has to use Oxegen during night - [ during the day plants suck in CO-2 and put out O2 - at night they suck-in O2 and put out CO2 ] He lives on farm and said it seems to help .
I don't know about the extra oxygen, but it probably keeps your humidifier cleaner than many I've seen. (I work at a Sleep Clinic as a Respiratory Therapist, so I instruct people on CPAP administration 5 days a week.)

Mary,
I hope it keeps the inside of the long flex hose from
the unit to the head gear free of germs. I don't know
of any way to clean the inside of the hose. They just
told me to pour vinegar through it twice a month. I
would not want to get some awful lung disease from a
germ inside the hose that I couldn't reach to clean it out.
It has been six years now and I'm still alright.
