My dutchmans pipevine is , as usual, trying to take over the world. This vine grows very well here and grows rapidly. It blooms throughout the summer andmakes for great conversation. Someone told me their smell is not pleasant, but I dont smell anything. Last year, I got a frost before the seeds ripened. I am hoping for seeds this year since thesummer started soearly this year.

That is beautiful. How big is the blooms? Fran
Its Lovely Rylaff, I had a monsterous one on my back privacy fence that covered the whole area in a single season .The 100 year freeze got it and I just replaced it this year . from now on I'll take cuttings every fall just in case .MY ponds even froze over solid that year .Unbelievable !
The original giant has a stench but I buy the new cultivar Brazilensis from Logees which has blooms that smell like Lemon Pledge
( really ! )
Fran, the blooms are HUGE they can get as big as both of your hands together.
Rylaff , could you maybe take a pic of the back of the flower too ? Its really cool looking as well .The blooms look like latex .
Oh boy , now youve got me just dying for mine to start blooming ,
Thanks :)
Teresa

It is a woody vine. Not sure if you could get it to bloom for you. Mine dies back about January and then re emerges about April.
