I hope everyone has a good day being proud of your magnificent country. It's so nice that it comes close to our Independence Day on the 4th of July when we too spend the day being proud. I can't think of anyone I had rather share the North American continent with!!!!!
Salute,
Pati
Happy Canada Day Neighbors!!
Thank you so much Pati. I too hope that all of our American friends take time to be proud of who they are, what they have, and what they give.

Thank you for starting our Happy Canada Day thread, Pati! Today was a time to remember what's good about our country, and reflect on where we've been, where we're going and why.
(....and it's also a time, in this corner of the country, to run around downtown Ottawa for hours with a large Canadian flag around your neck like a cape, with several thousand of your closest friends! ;-) I stayed home today with the cats, but saw lots of the aforementioned revellers on TV. I hope July 4th is as good a day for you as Canada Day has been here today.

Thanks Pati! Ü Happy Birthday Canada!
Breathtaking show here this evening.......the fellow in charge of the fireworks won the title of Canadian Champion at the Canadian Pyrotechnics competition.
Wishing all our American friends a wonderful July 4th!

Thanks Pati.
Hi Shannon - haven't seen you posting much of late - but then maybe we don't hang out in the same forums. We had plans to go join the revellers downtown yesterday, but it was such a GREAT gardening day after all the rain; that we just stayed home and worked until it was time to go to friends' for the evening. Walked home with the rumble of the fireworks in the distance, but too far away to see anything other than the sky lighting up a bit.
Hope all the rest of you had a great day and continue to have a good weekend.
Also think of our American friends as they prepare to celebrate on Tuesday.
Ann
Hi Ann,
Thanks for the greetings. I've been away from DG for some time, but I plan to drop in more often from now on. My first priority as always is this forum, to see what's been going on!
(and, procrastinating at the computer this evening, instead of going to bed & getting ready for work tomorrow. It sure can be hard to go back after a 3-day weekend! :-)
I hope everyone's had a safe & enjoyable long weekend.
Cheers,
~Shannon
Our Canada Day was spent with my son and his family..This was the first time we went camping together and it was a blast..I am sunburnt, mosquito biten, and dead tired but it was great..I am so very happy with the way that we can live free to do what we want.. We got some sparkers for all the grand kids and they really enjoyed running around the campground with them..We made sure we took a few more as they always make a few friends...Oh yes almost forgot--- we caught some very nice Rainbow Trout too..and they were sooo good BBQ.
To all my American Friends have a Fantastic Day and give the one you love a BIG hug!!!!
