H. lobbii IML 1161 Blooming

Chowchilla, CA(Zone 10a)

OK, I cheated with this one. I got this from La Pimpette when it itsy-bitsy buds just beginning to form. I got it from her when she and Sandyc swept through on their tour - so it has taken its sweet time to bloom.
At any rate, I think it is gorgeous. Look at the freckles on the buds.

This first shot is of the whole plant

Gorgeous flowers and marvellous pictures! You are so good at it!!

My lobbii bloomed for the first time in June. They opened up June 22 and are still there, but I think they will fall off today or tomorrow.

I also love the freckled buds! They are so cute!

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

Wowser..that is SOMETHING!
Loving the flower!

Geeez, Ann! I think you have found your other "calling" (other than growing hoyas). Your pictures are FAN-TAAASTIC!!! (and so are your hoyas!)

Ok Ms. Kitty Kat, this is the last straw. I'm posting a picture of the "hit man" you need to watch out for, he's coming for you and your blooming hoyas!

Oh, HJM Awanda, the terminator doesn't scare me.
Besides, my semi ran out of gas on the way to your place, so I never was able to have my way with your greenery.
Dang, he does look rather good in those leather pants - he seems to have a skin condition, though!

So here is a photo where all of the blooms are either open and reflexed or in the process of opening (each one looks like a cute little alien)

Ann, those are incredible!! What camera do you have? I am still learning mine, I have a Panasonic Lumix FZ30, and I am thinking if I use a tripod I can get that close? (I do get pretty close, but can't seem to keep my hands still enough)

Örebro, Sweden

Love the lobbii and love your pictures, Ann!!

My lobbii-flowers are still "alive". They opened June 22! They do start to look a litte old though, but they are still beautiful to me.

Ann, those photos are simply gorgeous and perfect! Looks like you have a nice plant too, not just nice flowers.

Beautiful picture and flower, Ann!

Chowchilla, CA(Zone 10a)

Thanks Ladies!

Becky, I do use a tripod and I set it on the macro-setting. I think Christina is more adept than me because she gets great pictures by just snapping them wherever they are. I have to use a tripod or everything is fuzzy.

It's over....
My lobbii started to drop the flowers today *sobbing*. They lasted long though - almost two weeks.

Lotta, even in death they look stunning!!!
Oh, I hope mine lasts as long as yours did.
Wipe your eyes, my dear. They will come back again.

I surely hope that yours will last that long too. They are so beautiful. A new favourite.
But every new bloomer seems to be a new favourite =)
