There are many dark bloomers in FC. Thousands but many with no pictures.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Of course, I had to do a search in the FC database! I found 26 with the word "black" in their bloom description. Some had "near-black edge" or "near-black tips." Here are those that seemed most nearly black from their descriptions...

Black Velvet (810) 09/01/1956 (M. Rand) Double blue-black. Ovate, supreme. Semiminiature

Dark Angel (1524) 07/30/1965 (Eyerdom) Semidouble black-purple ruffled. Dark girl foliage. Standard

Dark Orbit (J. Gehr) Single dark burgundy-red sticktite/wide black tips. Dark green, plain, quilted. Standard

Ebony Echo (1230) 05/03/1961 (Mrs. J. Gouverneur) Double dark blue/black shading. Variegated, quilted. Large

Julia Lynn (E. Fisher) Dark blue-black star. Medium green, plain. Standard

Marie's Sir Byron (7787) 09/05/1992 (M. Beeman) Double fuchsia ruffled star/near-black top petals. Variegated black-green and ivory, plain, ovate, glossy, scalloped. Large

Marie's Tyler Dwight (7514) 03/11/1991 (M. Beeman) Single-semidouble plum frilled pansy/near-black upper petals, longer lower petals. Variegated dark green, pink and ivory, ovate, wavy. Large

Midnight Velvet (8535) 11/09/1996 (S. Sorano) Double dark blue star/variable near-black overlay in center. Dark green, plain, ovate/red back. Large

Mister (E. Fisher) Semidouble-double black plum-red large. Medium green, plain. Standard

Night Vision (8724) 03/23/1998 (D. Harrington) Semidouble black-wine large frilled star. Variegated dark green, cream and pink, heart-shaped, pebbled, glossy, wavy/red back. Standard

Rainbow's Black Frost (R. Wasmund) Semidouble dark purple-black two-tone large star/white ruffled edge. Standard

Rainbow's Black Panther (R. Wasmund) Double purple two-tone/wide black tips. Medium green, plain. Standard

Rob's Love Bite (9039) 05/31/2001 (R. Robinson) Semidouble black-red pansy. Crown variegated dark green, cream and beige/red back. Miniature

Rodeo Bonanza (J. Munk) Double purple-black frilled. Black-green, plain. Standard

Solar Eclipse (K. Stork) Semidouble black-purple star/thin white edge. Variegated medium green and cream. Standard

Vampire's Kiss (G. Boone) Semidouble-double dark red/near-black shading. Dark green, quilted. Standard

I have 'Rob's Love Bite', which is a very deep red, but I would not call it black. But these should at least all have very dark colored blooms.

Kelly Bluebirds seels it. I just gave away my last plant to a DG Peep a couple weeks ago. I might have leaves down but no babies.

I just separated a Blackberry Jam baby from the mom leaf yesterday. It's way too little to donate leaves, but if you don't have one by the time it's bigger, I'll send you some leaves. I put the mom leaf back down, so maybe she'll put up another baby. If so, you could have it, Kelly.

I have a couple of Black Magic plantlets. Not ready yet but perhaps in about 6 weeks.
