Butterfly ID

I'm very new to butterfly gardening, but I've seen several of these butterflies in my garden. Can someone tell who this fellow is? Thanks!

Hi Susanna--How nice! A butterfly on a butterfly bush!! I am no butterfly expert, but I think I can safely say that yours is one of the Tiger Swallowtails. For more definitive information, an expert will have to chime in.

Looks like your friend has flown around the block a few times and perhaps encountered a bird or two!

Yes, and it looks like she narrowly escaped death by a cat..or something. Poor thing is pretty beat up.
