New plant product (at least to me)

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

I was out nursery hopping this morning and saw this product at both places I went to. When I saw it at Home Depot I thought I'd give it a try. It's called TerraCycle Plant Food (foliar) - All purpose. The bottle is a recycled soda bottle and it was developed by several people while they were students at Princeton University. The info on the bottle states: "We created TerraCycle by feeding premium organic waste to millions of worms that consume and process the material to create worm poop. We liquefy the worm poop into a natural plant food that enhances plant growth and vigor." The formula is 0.03 0.002 0.02. It cost $3.97 for 20oz. and you only need to spray 1x per week. Home Depot also has the butterfly clips that we all love and use on our hoyas. They are great if you only need a few and don't want to have to order a truckload:-), 12 for $3.00

Blessings,
Awanda

LOL I have that. Hey and save the bottles cuz the sprayer does a real fine mist. Also you can buy it by the gallon to refill your sprayer. I used it on my hoya babies from Carol when they came in, and they perked right up. I think they even use recycled pop bottles which is cool.

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

I checked my Home Depot and Ace Hardware for this fertilizer and neither one of them had it :( I was really hoping to find some as it sounds like something I would like to try.

Not to hi-jack this thread but my husband is still in shock that I purchased a gallon of authentic Bat Guano from E-Bay. He's like: "How much does a gallon of bat guano go for these days? Only MY wife would be BUYING Bat Poop!" OMG, everyone he talks to has to hear how HIS wife buys bat poop on E-Bay. It has become a real conversation starter! Yes, I did buy bat poop on E-Bay......I can't find it here in Maine *lol* My plants are all thanking me for it too *lol*

Isn't it funny what we will do for our plants?

1. If I call it St. Bernard guano, will anyone buy it??

2. Betsy will verify, our mother would be horrified that we would even THINK about doing this to her 'little' boy (who is 44!!)

Long Beach, CA

LOL...that is too funny.
I DID find it at Home Depot the other day & bought 2 of them. They weren't all that much price wise either. Sooo....now we shall see if they like it. However, with all the other stuff we use, how are we ever going to tell WHAT is making them grow? All my plants are already growing good, so I have no clue how I will know if it makes a difference. Ha.
It's cute stuff tho, and a great idea they had.

LOL Marcy good point :)
I usually dont' use much on my plants though..maybe just a little bone meal, blood meal initially in the soil...and then I use some VF11 once a month or so.

Macon, IL(Zone 5b)

Would you buy 'guano' from this guy - aka Jackson (who is currently supervising the building of our new addition)?

Ok ...I just picked up on this worm tread-----In our Master Gardener class we did a compost worm project..... I still have my worms !!!! They make a wonderfull tea that you mix with water to water everything with...............Also the compost mixed in with your potting mix really works well...I gave them there compost and old news paper in March and they are still eating away...Kinda forgot about them !!!! Bad Mommy......Sandy
