Pretty! Are they the same flower but different lighting?
By the way X, I love your website. It is so colorful and happy :) Can't wait to see more of it.

Thanks! .. yes it's the same flower different light (the vagaries of digital camera brains - didn't feel good enough this morning to spend time to correct the color. Had an electrifying episode yesterday) .. you can see the water droplet at the bottom on the petal.

I'm in the process of designing my 2006 Spring/Early Summer page .. should be up in a week or so.

Your picture is a good example of how brug bloom color can be misleading at times. Posted one at a time, who would know which one was the right color or even the same bloom. I know that you can get much darker pictures by taking them in the shade or at night and even on an overcast day. I like to take pictures in full light as long as it isn't totally blinding me, but have taken some in the shade myself. I love the color of the one on the right. You take nice pictures. That bloom is flawless. Now, I have to go check out your web site.

I remember when American growers used to be in awe over a slight few Euro brug pics that looked so red. There was always behind the scenes debates about whether they were really red or was it a devious trick with the camera ... haheehaha!? lol! So I did an experiment sun pic vs shade pic with B. Coral.
Discounting cameras and lighting I do believe there are brugs that are sometimes more reddish than true pink no matter if they are in sun or shade but they don't always stay that way. Depends on the environment.
I forgot I had these pics. They are only being posted to show just how much lighting can fool the eye.

So beautiful! And full of buds! Wow!

Congratulations on your blooms! Do they smell wonderful?
Thank you for showing the difference in how the photographer "makes" the colors, its amazing.
Vicki, thats such a difference, I MUCH prefer the true coral color.

Me too prefers the coral color. I do have a couple of stays true girly pinks that I couldn't part with or I would cry :). I'm glad I don't have to make a final choice of colors ... lol!
Dreaming of a future coral double/triple/quadruple :) ... sigh

Exciting and beautiful. I'm sure you will spend every possible free moment looking at them, and they deserve the attention.

I spent the evening having a leisurely dinner in the company of my brugs watching a newly opened one begin to change colors. The fragrance of these are the baby power fragrance.

I managed to get good pictures of 2 starting the color change. They are from the same bush as the ones above. Look closely and you can see a hint of pink. I do not know what causes the color change .. possibly oxidation. Anyone out there know?

Gosh X, I wish there was an easy explanation. A few years back I attempted to learn more about flower color changes and got really bored with all the hi-fa-lutin hoity toity explanations I read ... lol!.
Brug flower changes remind me of dark skinned human babies that are not born as dark as what they turn within a few days. Or like berries that continually change color as they ripen with age. Genetics, maturity, environment and nutrition ... Anything from 1 to all of these contributes to the flower color. Maybe someone with more brains than me will pop in and explain things in simple english. :)

X, beautiful brug, you finally got one --- many more to follow I am sure.

I would spend my leisure time amongst my beautiful brugs ---
IF THEY WOULD ONLY BLOOM!.

Sorry for shouting, I am enjoying my other flowers and garden, It is prettier than it has ever been, but I have only worked on it for 3 years, we will see what the next three years will bring.
