I got a small cutting of this vine in trade and now it has truly grown rampant...huge leaves...whitish to purple bloom. I planted it last June thinking the Gulf Fritillary butterflies would use it as a larval host and they don't touch it. It's not like the other passion flower I have that they eat bare each year.
Am thinking of cutting this one back as it has truly taken over the east wall of my home. The trunk is already 1" in diameter!

what passion flower variety is this?
It's the eatin' kind, I reckon. Thus, keep it, Cat!

Prune to shape/control, but takeover is the humble nature of vines. I wish my P. edulis would bloom, but it's in a pot and I'm in CO.

It has bloomed profusely but I haven't found any fruit/seed pods.
Is it p. edulis???
It has worked it's way over to my garage...am thinking I will put up some sort of lattice or netting so it can crawl and cover the top front. It really has gone crazy...I had no idea it would grow so vigorously!

The passiflora is the vine at the far right - that photo was taken in January...it has since doubled in size :o)
Yep - P. edulis, and a beautiful one, too!
