I think that Queen Anne's Lace is a bienniel - so plant it this fall for blooms NEXT summer. It grows wild along the roadway here in Connecticut. I love the "floating" flowers growing above the rest.

I remembered that I bought some seeds last year so I went to look. I bought flase queen anne's lace. the pack says that it looks just like it, but is an easy to grow annual that can grow anywhere and flower's the same season its planted. I haven't had too much success with seeds so you are welcome to them if you would like!

Queen Anne's Lace (Daucus carota) is also known as wild carrot and it is a member of the carrot family. I don't know what false Queen Anne's Lace is, but if it turns out to be something like Bishop's weed, I don't think you want it.

QAL is known as an invasive alien in some circles and was probably brought by colonists for its flowers and its food value - today's carrots are descendents of QAL. It will spread itself around.

I have read somewhere that butterflies love them.

Be careful in planting QAL. It's VERY invasive and will choke out your other plants. It's difficult to get rid of.

I'm not sure what false QAL is - but there is a look-a-like plant that people often mistake for QAL and it is Water Hemlock - a poisonous plant that has the same umbrella like white flowers.

the falso quess anne's lace is called: Ammi majus. Someone sent me a package and it is from Martha Stewart Everday Cutting Garden.
