Humming a favorite tune......

I've got the stuff that you want
I've got the thing that you need
I've got more than enough
To make you drop to your knees
Cause I'm the queen of the night
The queen of the night
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah

I've missed visiting and seeing all the great images here on the forum......have a lot of catching up to do! So busy with decisions and activities at the new house, boxes everywhere here as I try to sort and organize 8 years of clutter. :-) My poor garden is neglected, but going strong on its own thank goodness.

I've been watching the E. oxy buds as they develop and they took on that upward movement a couple of days ago and began to enlarge rapidly. I think tonight will probably be opening night for most of the surviving buds. Some didn't ever develop beyond the 1/2" stage, some melted away in a week long 100+ heat wave, but there are a dozen or so on this plant that is in it's third season. Last year as I recall there were just two flowers.

A month ago they looked like this http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/608815/ and yesterday they looked like this:

And here are the ones on the left above around 3pm today. There are about 7-8 that are all at this same stage.

Envy dripping from my fingers as i type this. Have several new cuttings but nothing big enough to flower this year. Keep drooling over all the pictures and want it to be my turn. But have to wait. Judy

Glad you all enjoyed my pretties! Had three more last night, so short lived, but what wonderful blooms they are while they last.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Is that what they do
start turning upward?
I had one bloom....but I missed it
there are about 4 more...all about the same size and I DO NOT plan on missing it this time....
but I work nights..........
plan on looking each night before I leave for work at 9:15

Nashville, TN(Zone 6b)

If you are sure that it is the night that they are going to open.... just cut off your bud right at the leaf, put the cut stem in some water and take it to work with you. They will open right on schedule. I often take buds to the neighbors on opening night when I have several opening at the same time. Do make sure that it is time for them to open.

These pictures show such good opening sequence it will help you to know when opening night will be.

OK
I 'll take pictures of how they look today
I'll post them...

These plants.... they are just not compatible with my lifestyle LOL
They bloom just as I am going to bed, and have closed up by the time I wake up.
