Help ID two yeller fellers?
Hi Kimberley,
These are guesses, perhaps try to find pix to match (pls. try Desert-tropicals.com, to start).
1st one looks like a Hibiscus to me (can bloom in many colors).
2nd one looks like a Croton (Codaeum sp?), which is a form of Euphorbia (if you pull a leaf, & white sap flows (pls. wash carefully), it is a Euphorbia, & likely to be a Croton). HTH = hope this helps.
I agree. The first is a Tropical Hibiscus, (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis) the second is a Croton, (Codiaeum aucubifolium).
Correct on both counts, you guys. Thanks so much for your help! I'll have you know my blankety-blank cat managed to knock both hibiscus buds off today while we were gone! And one was just starting to open!! *sniffle* Oh well, there will be more...
