Needing Double Althea Seed

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

I am looking for the double White, Pink and Purple Althea seed. I have some trades or can do SASBE.....
Thanks

Dee

Dee:
I have a new double, but I had to get cuttings from someone since the doubles don't produce much seed. Mine is still way to small to cut from, but see if someone can generously send you cuttings. They were easy from cuttings.

Thanks for the information GG, I will look into that. I have since spotted a double at the car wash that is a pretty pink. I will keep checking it for seed and see if I get any. I have looked it over good and so far don't see a singel pod. SO that may be the case not much seed. But I guess I could take a cutting or two and hope I don't get "BUSTED"..........LOL

I have 4 of these and have checked them good many times for seeds, they have never producted any.

Just say "I would like a couple of small branches from that bush, please". I find people say "sure", especially if it is a place of business!!

Good luck

Jackie that is just beautiful. It looks like the one at the car wash. I will get some cuttings from there this weekend. I know they won't mind and I won't strip the plant. It is pretty big anyway and I don't think they will even notice.

Thanks for the offer. I hope you find the purple and blue. I will keep you in mind if I spot any.

thanks again

wow Jackie, that is just what you were looking for. I would dip the tip in rooting hormone and put in steril potting soil. That should work and if not you know where the supply house is..............LOL

that's what I thought ......But is there a particular place to make the cut before rooting?

I have always make the cut just below the node........you know the little bump that kinda segments the cutting......
