Thanks everyone..I put in a new White Resin Rose Arbor this spring and Planted David Austin's Climbing Rosa "Tess of the d'Urbenvilles" on each side and 4 clematis..LOL.."Pink Champage" aka "Kakio",John Huxtable", "Violet Elizabeth" and "Avant-Garde" so hopefully when they all mature it's gonna be heaven...Jeanne

What a unique and lovely pink clem! Thanks for sharing. You have such beautiful clematis pic's; I'm so glad you post them for us to see especially since the only way I ever get to see these beautiful flowers is in pictures. Have killed about half a dozen in my gardening career, yet I walked into Lowe's this season and bought another. It's alive but it will be awhile before it blooms--that is, if I don't kill it first. hahahaha

PHughes..You need to plant them 2-4 inches deeper than the pots they are in and keep them moist...Clematis like to have their roots stay moist!!..Stay ontop the watering..especially in our hotter zones and I plant mine where they get half day morning sun or half evening...I think that is key for us...Jeanne

Thanks for info, Jeanne. This new one has started getting new growth and I have it planted where it gets some evening sun but not direct. I did add some additional compost earlier when I read someone's thread here on DG saying that it needed to be deeper. Keep your fingers crossed--maybe I'll get lucky.

My fingers are crossed and wishing you well!!..I now have like 60+ and still wanting more!!!!!!!...Jeanne

And hey yall.."Avant-Garde" is suppose to have red Sepals but I am hearing from a lot of people the first year they are pink like mine and are red the next year...I am going to prune back for round 2 and see if it comes red for me!!...Jeanne
