columbine???

Lilburn, GA

Hi!

I am trying to encourage butterflies to come to my garden and am planning to sow some columbines. I would like to know what type will have nectar for them. Is it the native, wild columbine or will the hybrids are OK for them?

thank you!

I know this thread seems to be mostly about butterflies, but since you mentioned hummingbird attractors..l would like to ask a question. Has anyone else in the Southeast noticed a difference in the number of hummers this year? The past few years I've had hummingbirds fighting over my feeders and plants. This year I've seen ONE! My Mom (lives about 60 miles south of here) hasn't had any and she usually has them flitting all over the place. I've heard others say the same thing. Is it the dry spell we are having or could Katrina have had something to do with it (we're blaming everything on her this year)?

I only had one this year. :o((
