We noticed this morning that my licorice plant has almost been completely eaten by these caterpillars. Does anyone know what they are? I'm hoping the plant can survive, I just put it in this spring.

looks like a American Lady to me although book doesn't list Licorice as host plant

Thanks DonnaB, that was a great link. I guess I got what I wished for...planted things to attract butterflies but I didn't expect them to devour the plants! Oh well, if it doesn't live I'll get another one next year and play host to more American Ladies!
