MsC
WANTED
It's not in my FC database, but it could well be in one of the more recent updates.
Here ya go:
Wrangler's Winter Hawk (W. Smith) Double purple/lighter edge. Variegated dark green and pink ruffled. Large
Marilee :)
ETA: I found another one that went into more detail:
Wrangler's Winter Hawk (W. Smith) Frilly medium to deep purple doubles soar over excellent, dark, slightly ruffled foliage variegated with rose-pink on the deeply scalloped edges. Large
Enjoy. :)

((((Marilee)))
Did it happen to give a date of registery???
Thanks to both of you!
MsC
No, neither description gave the date of registry. Sorry. :(
I got both descriptions from two separate vendors selling that particular violet on eBay. I don't have a computerized database or anything like that.
Marilee
ETA: I did an internet search and everyone that lists it, does not list a date. This leads me to think there isn't one. But I've been wrong before and I'm sure I will be again before long. :)

Marilee,
Thank you so much...
I'm updating my Av list and trying to organize it for Fall trades & maybe a Bingo.
Hey & don't feel bad...I'm wrong lots...we must belong to the same club.:)
MsC
It is overwhelming trying to find out info. on some of the AV.
Wrangler's Winter Hawk (W. Smith) Double, medium to deep purple, frilly. Dark, slightly ruffled variegated rose-pink deeply scalloped edges. Large (User Database)
This is the one I got from the place set up for plants not in FC.
Lot's of Wrangler's are not in FC nor registered. Even some of the ones in FC are not registered.
In FC there are 6 Wrangler's Winter 's ~ Two registered, 4 not. I'm sure they are in all in one of his seires.
Diane it is hard to find some of the AV's . Even with First Class now having over 15 thousand helps but there are over 30 thousand named Av's out there.
I finally got the FC updates to download last night, but still no Wrangler's Winter Hawk. But as Allison noted, it does seem like he had a series with "Winter" in the name. He must've done a lot of successful hybridizing, as he has 140 varieties that are in FC. !!
