I got these yesterday.
Anyone know the name of this one? I already have it but I love it so much I got another. LOL
My bounty!
Dang girl! Where was I? Hey Sue, Kell snuck off and went- begonia- huntin' without us!
With all this hot dry weather we're having, where in the world did all that mud come from? you are a crack up with the footie shots!
That is all I dare show. LOL. I was mud from head to toe.
Tom had to dig holes in dried up clay, it is like cement. So we have to wet it first but then it is quick sand. You literally get sucked down and it is so hard to extricate yourself.
Here is my shoe sunk in. You can only see the back rim marked by XXX
might as well go bare-foot eh?
Oh the ground is too hard, it even hurts when I walk with my shoes on. It really is like cement. I only water my plants so the surrounding dirt is too hard to walk on barefoot or even with shoes. But the plants love it!
Ohhh my!!!
I have #3 too, it's even a heading pic in one of my threads. Don't think I ever got a name but I have a few image sites I saved. Maybe I can look after the grandkids leave, they have been here since Friday AM and going home tonight, parents went to Mendicino for Anniversary.
There's a reason people have kids when they're young.
You are such a good grandma, Sue. I bet people think they are your kids, not your grandkids.
What a pretty place but what a dry background.
They are so cute. It must have been brutal. Have you dropped by Orchards there off Acalanes? One of my fav nurseries, Sue.
No, I have never been there. If it wasn't so hot, I would have gone nursery shopping after but we left at 11:30 and came home, well after we stopped at Cold Stone for ice cream.
Those are the hills surrounding Walnut Creek and Concord area, nice and green in the winter.
Adorable kids! Kell- your so going to make me cry! I went to two nursuries today looking for begonia's and didn't come up with anything. WAHHHHHHH....
Oh my God Kristi, you should see what I found today................ gallon Gerhtiis. I could not believe it. I have the plants hidden in my car or I would take a pic of them. I went nuts on coleus again. And I bought a a Summer Chocolate tree. I fell in love though I have no place for a 20 ft tree by 15 feet. LOL. I am such a sick one. I wonder how long I can keep it in a pot. LOL
Sue, Lali wants to make a run to those nurseries that way. You want to come when we do it??
Kell, you've got the begonia bug BAD!
When are you going??
I have my grandson Mon-Wed. but he loves nursery shopping with me, up to a point I think, as long as he has his Gameboy too!
We have not set a date, but lets pick one. We can take Lali to Berkeley Botanical Gardens too. Lets wait till it cools down. I just almost died at Regans I was there for over 4 hours.
Lali, I have enjoyed begonias for years but you infected me wth the acute begoniaitis which I fear may be fatal.
Kristi, want me to start a few for you?
Kell- I can't find a gallon anything begonia... Yes, I'm SO very jealous but Tom is so going to kick you out to live in your yard if you keep bringing home more plants. LOL.... Thank you for the offer to start some plants for me your so sweet- if you have time I'd love it. If your too busy PLEASE don't worry about it. ;)
Starting them is no problem Kristi, it is sending them where I fail. LOL. I sound like I am so confident and able to start them easily. It could all be an illusion for I happened to start a very difficult one to start as my first begonia try. Watch me kill all the others. LOL
Oh I did root all the ones Lali gave me and she gave me tons. I do not think I lost any.
You like the big and hairy ones too?
I have post office issues too so I understand where your coming from- trust me on this one ;0) Yep- big/ hairy/flashy/bold/ not easy to kill types.
You guys are so lucky to be able to find begonias! Not much selection around here, but I keep hoping and looking :-)
