Trouble and 2 new NOIDS

Well frist the motor went out on our swamp cooler while we were at work and it got up to 101 outside so when I got home from work I had several unhappy plants and leaves that are even more sad...I think they are going to make it but alot are sorry looking and I lost one of my favs that I had nursed back from the cat dumping it, sorry Allison :-(.....
That said we have a new motor and things are cooler now...:-)
These jumped into my cart at HD, they had some with varigated foliage but they were beat up pretty bad so they had to stay. I put down 3 leaves of each...
This one has double flowers and is a pretty lavender and white

And this one is a single, white with lavender edges.......Hey any suggestions for a real camera????.........Lauri

I love NOIDS ... I can't pass em up either.They will look great after you give them proper care. I'm thankful our local HD have them available but goodness they take really bad care of em.

Lauri those are really pretty- my local HD has the worst plants and their AVs look like someone pulled them out of the trash- only once in a great while do they have anything worth looking at! YOu are lucky to have found such pretty ones!

Lauri sorry you lost your A/C . Sad I have had friends loose all their plants when they lost A/C and lost their heat :(( I sure hope most of your plants are OK.
Maybe if you have screens open widnows , use fans .
I just don't get it my husband grows the most beautiful AV's outside were in the 90's everyday . His large plant just keeps on growing and blooming full of most beautiful flowers loaded with buds. Amazing. Bothered by no pest. When he first plants this one out it was in a morning sun/shade area but I guess still in the afternoon sun. All the 4 or so leaves burned. BUT he brought it back each leaf lush and green dozens of leaves and loaded with flowers. He is so proud of his plants !
We've lost our electric during Hurricanes. I kept all blind/shades closed . Before the storm I had watered good as sometimes we have to leave. Blessed these times all was fine.

I got a gift camera from DG PEEPs. And Keyring picked out the most awesome camera at Wal-Mart ! It's a fuji it's full of all the right stuff to take pretty flower pictures !
It also helps for insurance to put leaves down from plants just in case they don't make it, get use to new enviroments...plus then you have some to share and
trade !

Hi Allison, thankfully I had all the windows open so it was real warm but not as hot as I thought, I only lost one plant and the others are starting to look happy again and a couple of leaves from Lali...LOL I see a bloom starting on Arapahoe too. Maybe that is a secret, frist have your cat toss them on the floor, repot them and then later half fry them...I'm getting there on making new babies for trading, going to order some more prettys soon....Lauri
