Before the storm
Storm damage
It's too bad, I know it hurts, but wait until you have about 150 of them in a wind and hail storm. OMG....I thought I would just sit down and cry, but they came out of it other than the trunks that still, three years later, have speckles from the hail. Storms are good for friends...they get cuttings early. LOL!
Well I stuck 2 broke stem back into the dirt hope they root.LOL
Lavina
Sorry you had some damage to your plants. I don't like this time of yr, you never know what these storms will do.
Ruth
Oh Lavina sorry about storm damage. My plants are suffering because of no stormy weather.... Love your friend checking it out. What a gorgeous hydrangea.. hugs, Elaine
Lavina, brugs are tough .. you can throw left over cuttings in a compost pile and 3 weeks later it will be rooted and budded .. seems you can kill them with kindness, so don't fuss too much!

Did your brugs do all right yesterday afternoon and last night? Mine got a few more holes.
Meag848-did you get that hail the news kept talking about? It didn't do any thing here yesterday thank goodness. Its so wet in my yard and grass will have to be bush hoged LOL.
Mine I only have 3 are on the front porch and 1 on the back porch so they get mostly wind. The hanging basket was above the one that got mangled.
Oops I for got I have 1 out by the back fence kinda in the shade, Its yellow.
I have the Cotton Candy which was splatted and I don't know what the other 2 are till they bloom.
Hope your wasn't hurt too bad.
We need to plan a day and meet.
Lavina
Lavina, yes we got hail.....hail.....and more hail! Friday we got about 3 and 1/2 inches of rain in about an hour, yesterday we got 2 inches in an hour. Last night we had terrible lighting. Will it ever stop?? LOL!! I am so tired of moving seedlings in and out, I don't think that they could take the downpours that we have had. I wished that I had Cotton Candy cause I would gladly help you out. But more that likely yours will come back from the roots. Fingers crossed!!
One limb is still attached but the biggest was broke off. I have stuch it in dirt maybe it will root and then I can bring it to you.
Lavina
Sorry about the damage, but its so true about friends being happy to get "cuttings" early. Im sure it will grow nice and full in no time at all.
Lavina and Melanie, be glad you weren't in Mt. Gilead. They got eleven inches in a short period of time. Thank goodness, we didn't get any hail this time but we could have used a good rain. We only got a sprinkle.
ahelms all the creeks are overflowing here and it makes for a bad day when you have to detour and go out of the way to get to and from work. Groan, last week it took me over 45 extra minutes and it normally takes on about 20 min. to get home.I think it was Tuesday we had like 8 and 1/2 inches in 2 hours. Isn't you part of the state considered in a drought right now.
Meag848 hope you didn't get more hail last night as we got a bad storm again and lots of wind and rain. Thank goodness my hanging basket was not put back up.
Lavina

Sorry about the damage to your plants. =0( Crazy weather.
We're so dry here in Central Illinois the grass is dying. Send us some of your rain!
Betsy
amen Betsy. It has rained all around us now for 3 days and we got about 10 drops. Sure don't won't any of that heavy, hail stuff though. Sorry it zapped your plant babies.
Lavina, watch out!!!! They are calling for 2 to 4 inches more tomorrow!! But at least we are not getting like the North East is. On top of everything else I have root rot to worry about.
Elaine, Betsy, I wish I could send some of these rain clouds you way!
