That fruit is Jackfruit. It weighs about 40lbs. I tried to catch one as Bob knocked it from the tree...it landed smack dab on my FACE. YES...it hurt!!!
Owe, doesn't sound like anything I would like.. What does the fruit taste like?
Oh I have always wanted to go to the wax museum, how fun. The linearis is really cool. Were there alot of hoya in bloom? Does Norma still work there?
Is that H. tomhanksii? Doesn't look like a hoya to me.
Carol that "hoya tomhanksii" is a new hoya, not much is known about it....yet.

Awanda
Is it just me or is anyone else having problems posting pictures?

Cool pictures - must have been a great trip! Oh, and if there's an h. tomhanksii, can I order the h. bradpittii???
What a wonderful hubby you have. Sounds & looks like you guys made some fun sidetrips. Norma looks great in spite of what she has been through. So glad you went to visit her.
What kind of flower is in that picture? Looks like the tag may say, "pachyclada" Do you think that is what it is?
Are you getting all those plants rooted up?
You must get a picture of those 10 big plants so we can all drool with jelously.
Glad your home & posting again.
Marcy
Tami Norma still volunteers there, and they didn't have very many hoyas in bloom. Marcy considering what Norma has been through she's doing well as can be expected. She's a barrel of laughs and we had so much fun with her. She just loved her first Starbucks experience. I'm leaving the potted hoyas in their pots for now, I want to get them adjusted to the new enviroment before re-potting. All of the cuttings are being rooted. Norma is coming to see us next month and we are taking her to some nurseries in Tucson. Keep her in your prayers.
Blessings,
Awanda
You are smart to leave the hoyas in their pots rest awhile, Awanda...repotting immediately is not smart.
What is the flower with the unreadable tag?????? Sure is pretty.
So glad you had a graet time, and it sure must have been terrific for Norma too.
The hoya with the un-readable tag is pachyclada.....I think:-)
Blessings,
Awanda
Awanda - great pictures ~~ thank you for sharing! And bless you and your hubby's hearts for making that trip to see her. =0) I'm sure it meant more to her than we can imagine.
Hey, if you have an extra "Hoya DensilWashingtonii" can I have him??? =0) Oooh la laaaaaa!
That last hoya photo looks like H. kentiana (aka H. weyettii)...smells wonderful, doesn't it?
I'm glad you ladies (& hubby) had such a nice time.
Ann
