Very nice Dott! I can't wait till mine get full flushes!!

Hagerstown, MD(Zone 6b)

Thanks. This is the first year I am having decent flushes except for Maya.

Donna. I have a back porch with exposed to the east, south and west and DH frames it up for me in the fall. We enclose the porch with 2 layers of clear plastic and run a cord for a heater and humidifier. I also went out last winter and purchased one of those thermometers with an alarm on it to let me know when the temp drops to low. I'm not sure I will be able to fit them all in ther this year so I may ber cutting down to some choice brugs.

You've got some beautiful blooms Dot. Very nice pictures.

Dot, You have some wonderful blooming going on in your garden. PB sure is a beauty with that flush you are sharing with us. Maya has that wonderful honey looking color about her. That's a perfect place you have her to enjoy as you walk outdoors.
I hope you have plenty more blooms in the near future.

I can still remember when I received L'Amour. My heart skipped a beat. I thought it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. A while later I was on my way to fly to the East coast to see my Mom and I noticed it had suddenly gotten weird looking leaves. I was sure it was virused. I was sick about it. I quick sprayed it with Neem and off I went. I was sure it would be dead when I got home. Well it was fine when I go thome a month later with all normal leaves. It was my first brush with braod mites looking back.

All you brugs are just gorgeous. Lucky you!

Thanks for the information Dott, I have a seperate third car garage with heat and a small window. Do you think that would work to over winter. I'm in love with Brugs but so far I've just had them as annuals and I haven't had anything exotic looking like yours. Just ones I've picked up at a nursery which are pretty but nothing special. :)Donna

It's all thanks to the wonderful gardeners of Dg for the wealth of information and the generousity of sharing their plants.

EW, don't mention Broadmites. I thought I had them early in the spring possiblely. I sprayed with Neem and burnt a lot of leaves since they were in the sun. It didn't take long for the foilage to bounce back. I am now convinced after doing some research, that is was either the spring weather but most likely a deficiancy and eveything is doing wonderful except for a few I recenly started seeing some spidermite indications on. I removed the leaves with damage, sprayed with neem. I started hitting the leaves with water from the hose when I am watering to keep the mites away since it is so dry here.

Donna, the garage should be fine. Just don't water much while in winter storage. Winter watering has been the death of more of my plants than anything else. They can also be kept in complete darkness. My daughter housed a 5 of my bigger plants in her basement last winter. She did a wondeful job of taking care of them. She marked her calender and gave each plant 1 cup of water once a month and everything made it.

Bothell, WA(Zone 7a)

Dott, It's good to know it's not too difficult to overwinter them. I will try it with the ones I have and then if it works for me I will try to get something more exotic. I don't think I could stand it if one of the gorgeous ones died. :Donna

How did I miss my own thread. I had forgotten about.

Donna, I haven't looked where to purchase L'amour. I recieved mine in an exchange last fall. I can't wait until it grows up more. There are a lot of cuttings that go around in the fall so be on the lookout. Also try ebay.

Yes, Welcome Fly_girl. Your blooms look great.
